Stein Andreas Bethuelsen @ UiSAbout meFrom 01.08.2020 I will be at the University of Bergen as associate professor (førsteamanuensis) at the Department of Mathematics. Currently I am an associate professor (førsteamanuensis) in the Statistics group at the Department of Mathematics and Physics, University of Stavanger. I did my Ph.D. at the University of Leiden in 2012-2016 under the supervision of Markus Heydenreich (LMU Munich) and Frank den Hollander (Leiden). From 2016-2018 I was a Postdoc at the Technical University of Munich in the group of Nina Gantert and a member of the Scientific Priority Programme 1590 - Probabilistic Structures in Evolution, supported by the German Research Foundation, DFG. Research
My main field of research is discrete probability theory and mathematical statistical mechanics. Some keywords describing my current research are random walks in (dynamic) random environment, interacting particle systems, chains of infinite order and Gibbs measures. I am a member of the scientific network Stochastic Processes on Evolving Networks, supported by the German Research Foundation, DFG.
